:p:p:p:p, oh man do not say that, Google is great, and in fact when I search certain terms on google.cn, it says: certain results are not displayed according to the local law, so apparently Google is under pressure of the Chinese government. Giving that Google has a 30% share of the Chinese market (Next to Baidu.com), it has too.

As to Bing, it has to go through a few formalities if it want to enter the Chinese market which without a doubt is VERY big, and I think that is why the Chinese could not access Bing, and Bing has to follow the Chinese government's guidlines as well.

Things could happen, MSN once was block even a little while after Hujingtao, the president of China visited Gates in US, so chances are that any site could be blocked for whatever reasons, and the Chinese government would not give any.

Also there is a bad news I want to share with you guys. The Chinese government has developed a internet censor software and demanded that EVERY new computer install this program, so guess what?

The Chinese government wants to oversee the whole internet within China, but what about us, the Chinese people?

The Chinese government needs to grow up! All this banning does nothing but anger the Chinese people and make them go underground where they are going to get access to the information anyway. You cannot stop the Internet, it is going to eventually bulldoze the Chinese government.

Bing is blocked by GFW of China, twitter and wordpress or other big sites, but if hope, i can access it by some proxy server! But it is so bad to do it every time, so it decreases the rate i visit these sites!

Are these sites banned by Chinese government permanently or were they just taking precaution against the anniversary of Tiananmen_Square_protests_of_1989 which was on June 4th?

I hope these bans were only temporary and the access would be restored now, since the event has passed.

    Regards,

It's not a good thing that China is going to ban Adult sites and many more social networking and blogging sites. I hope, there will be very limited internet services in china in coming years. Too bad..
