I just finished revising my widgets to turn them into PPC ads. I've added click fraud detection on the backend and I'm ready to promote the PPC widgets. One of my competitors pays 3 cents per click, but that seem low. I'm paying 20 to 30 cents per click through google adwords. My site is new and I think a good paying widget can get me more backlinks. Any methods being used to determine the PPC?
I'm not sure if I exactly understand what you mean, could you please explain a little bit more. 1. Are you trying to advertise your site and you're asking what rates you should put for ppc campaign? 2. Are you asking what ppc rates you should charge on your website when someone wants to advertise?
It completely depends on your niche - some niches like 'cars' pay high CPC other niches is much lower, 3 cents is very very low though
Option 1 is the what I'm asking. The affiliate will put my widget on their website related to my service, a horse classified site. When a user visits the affiliate site and clicks on my widget, how much should I pay for the affiliate for the click?
Absolutely, it could turn into a bidding war. The competitor is paying 3 cents. I was thing about 10 to 25 cents and monitor the conversions from the affiliates. The way I have it setup, it would be easy to pay more to a better performing affiliate. Currently with adWords, I'm paying up to 30 cents and not getting much conversion. In fact, most conversions come from AdWord from search. Most of the AdSense clicks don't convert. That is why I think I can do better with my widgets.
