High bw customers typically pay for the bw. These cheapo accounts are lobbed into a crap category, loaded up and then sliced, diced, and thrown away when they become problematic. Best thing to do is read the fine print. No such thing as unlimited, so mater what anyone says or how they word it. Its marketing fluff. I really love how the guys that pay $1-$3 per month expect to get what people in the real world pay $1000.00-$5000.00 per month for. Use your heads people. I really used to thing the culprit here in these situations were unscrupulous hosts. Now I know its actually their customers. If an ISP pays $100 times what they charge you per month to use their servers for their bw, they are OVERSSELLING IT... They have to. How else would/could anyone make any money? If you use too much, you are either shifted to a shit server, or you sent to the curb.
Oh wow... That changes everything MODERATORS????? IS THIS THE BST SECTION OF THE WEBHOSTING CATEGORY OR A PLACE TO GET SUPPORT FOR WEB HOSTS??? WTF IS GOING ON DP???
WebTHosting has been quite the big scammer - He's basically stolen $80 from me, I had just purchased his VPS premium plan - It took 2 days to set up, and when it was finally online the cPanel/WHM was trial only. This company is run by a crook no doubt - To show you how much of a sham this is, I found that I was going to be hosting a site that was against their ToS, they said they would allow it, then after I ask "No, I don't feel right doing that, I'd like a refund" (3 hours before they even STARTED setting up the server) they go back to their ToS and tell me that I can't ask for refunds? They pick and choose what parts of their ToS they want to follow at given times just so they steal your money and not give you the service? WTF? @ Mia ( I LOVE HOW YOU DOUBLE POST ) follow the rules! ha, I sound like you... As you can see, I didn't buy the "Cheapo" hosting the poster did, but I did get it from webThosting, and I still got scammed... shammed...
Okay. I don't want to toss out words about my competitors. But every single customer i've had (over 20) in the past 8 days have been from either WebTHosting or ArbersHosting. It seems like they're together or either one's an friend of the other's. But they clearly aren't doing a great job, as everyone i speak to on "Live Chat/Technical Support" has given negative view's about either one, or even both at times. So, to whom it may concern (Owners). Please help your customers instead of ignoring them on the "client ticket system".
nothing new... never buy cheap/unlimited hosting, 99.9% of the time its ran by a 12yr old. i learned that lesson.
As it is shared hosting, there is a fair usage policy of course. 70MBPS is not a fair usage on shared hosting when you are paying a few bucks. If you look into any data center bandwidth pricing, 70MBPS bandwidth will cost ATLEAST hundreds of dollars. Although we have lots of unused bandwidth every month but 70MBPS usage continuously from a single user will result in high disk I/O rate which will slow down other sites on the server which is the main problem, not the bandwidth.
It's quite sad that we have to demoralize you in other forums just so you will comply to your customers with plans you've promised them... Really for anyone out there who's still compensating in going with WebThosting - take it from us, this service is not even worth the $3.99...
What is SAD is the fact that so many here find it necessary to bash the shit out of businesses here in an open forum instead of first communicating directly with them. What is event more SAD is the fact that the moderation team here allows this crap to continue.
That is correct. And we allow users more than a TB on the Premium plan which no one will allow. People say overselling, but do the so called non-oversold hosts allow you MORE THAN 1TB bandwidth at this price? At least I do not think so. However we can not allow people tens of terabytes at that price it is quite justified. We are a registered business with the local government
Yes, however we charge the customer for their usage, in a way that won't drive us straight into the ground. 1 TB certainly won't be offered at $5.00/ month, with a host that doesn't oversell.
