How often do you change content?

How often do you change the content on your site? What would you consider optimal for seo purposes? Also do you have to chage the content on every page or jsut a few pages etc?
I am targeting different keywords for different pages... so I'm guessing I will have to change content on each page... but how often?
Also what do you think is more important... fresh content or back links?

well I change it around once a week on main page and on average once a month on every other page.

On pages I don't update.. I use dynamic news :)

I think once a week is ok. I think back links are way more important

it really depends on a content, if your content is more on products for example use should always be updated.

come on... are you saying you make articles and content for all your pages every 15 minutes?
(my question wasn't about rrs feed etc) I'm talking about actual content on the site.

We all know how google se's love a new content update on a site, right? so i think theres no exact date or time when we should update our pages. as long as SE's sees the update on our content. i think no theres no problems on that.

I have a news website and I change every 15 minutes also. This is one of those things that the search engines loves when you have changes all the time and when you put original content. Its a hard work not less than that.

It really depends on the content itself. I have pages I haven't changed in five years that still do just fine. Do what would be best for your readers and let the search engines figure it out.
