Google always shows fewer backlinks than YaHoo, and I don't think even Yahoo shows them all. But even so, you should be seeing something in Google by now.... I usually see the first links show up within a week or so after my site is first indexed in Google. Are you sure Google has indexed your site? If not, create a couple of links from Mixx, Propeller and Digg and you should get indexed within a couple of days. Good luck.

The link command in Google never shows much of anything. In order to see the links that Google really sees, you need to setup an account with Google Webmaster tools.

The account will give you other information that can help you diagnose any crawling issues as well... Good luck!

google always takes very slow in displaying the link results. Its better to follow yahoo.Although google does not show all links openly in the results it actually takes everything into account.so just concentrate on link building.

Google not displays all the backlinks in when u search for link:yourdomain.com

But, u can find all the backlinks by login to ur webmaster tools account.

For easy way, u can use yahoo or backlinkchecker.com to count ur backlinks.

    No prob.

'Coz the big G simply doesn't show all our site links.

Does anyone here have a tool that shows all the backlinks of a site? I tried back link watch, but it is only limited for up to 1k links.

Yahoo shows many of the backlinks.

Matt Cutts from Google has even stated that Google won't show all backlinks. Its best to use Yahoo to get a better idea or a tool such as the one found at linkdiagnosis.com

In google webmasters, it says that I have 880 backlinks to my site, from 30 something domains, not sure why my site isn't ranked yet, the site is indexed as well. I blog for money, so I just stopped worrying about the statistics and just got to socail marketing and I still continue to add backlinks whenever I can. Promoing has brought in the bacon.

Agreed! Two months isn't sufficient time if you're looking at backlinks on Alexa though. Webmasters should provide a much better score.

link:domain.com doesn't work anymore, even if it shows you some backlinks the numbers are not accurate. google webmaster and backlinkwatch.com are a better solution
