I read quite a few blogs, and I comment from time to time. I don't have a strategy to use this to build backlinks. So my question is, should I have a strategy? Is this potentially a good source of backlinks, and if so, what are the three or four basic things I need to know and do? Thanks! Angie
Most blogs these days only accept nofollow comments, so they're not really a good source of backlinks. However, you can still generate traffic from it. If you want to increase your backlinks immediately, try other methods like forum posting, social bookmarking, link exchange, etc.
Also buying sponsor on wp themes are good way to get some quality backlinks. Comment's on blog post those days aren't good way to get backlinks, because most of them are nofollow
Write high quality comments and you will get traffic. Use blog commenting to build a relationship with the blog owner.
I think it's good to have no strategy for blog commenting. If all your links are from dofollow places there is definitely something wrong with your link profile.
I would say only this: DEFINITELY! You should also start reading blogs, as they are considered one of the few original content sources. People that have blogs (especially the ones hosted on their own domains) are a good way to building backlinks and value to your website because of the content. Anyways, you should look at blogs which are niche based and which have some strong SEO implemented. This way you will get better return for your efforts. If you're looking for backlinks, I will suggest avoiding blogs with "nofollow" tags in their links. Just have a look at other comments in the code. These could serve you for visitors but not PR. I am always looking for new blogs in my niches. So I will give you a hint that seems few people are following: is called: Google alerts. Just go to google and search for google alerts (I am too lazy to give a link) Then subscribe to a "term" like your main keyword and set your preferences there. After that you will receive alerts on new blogs, webpages and any kind of online activities regarding that term. You can unsubscribe anytime. This has proved to be a very good way for me to keep up with new ways of generating backlinks as well as stay informed about my niches. Try it... maybe you'll find it useful. Cheers,
Great tip!! The Biggest problem with blog posting is that it's so time consuming to find good ones to post to. this will speed things up a great deal!
I agree with this method. Which is fast and less work to do. But you need some money to sponsor those themes
commenthut.com offers blogs with dofollow comments. Blog owner still has right to decline acceptance on many, though.
I personally use the blog commenting system. It helps me maintain tracking over 100 blogs that I comment on.
Thanks for the idea on WP Themes. Blog comments can help can higher PR links also. As long as you post good comments why would the owner care that's why they have comments enabled.
Just to add, I would get that Firefox add-on where you can see which blogs are dofollow and do some research on relevant blogs in your niche. Dofollow/Relevant links will go a long way. Helps to check out the PR of course.
I use that firefox add on. It's great as many of the list of do follow blogs are outdated and the do follow become no follows. Wouldn't know unless you had a tool like Fire Fox.
Well let me tell you another "great tip" lol Blog posting can become such an easy task but only if you're using Firefox. Here's how: Go to add-ons on firefox and search for NoDoFollow add-on. After install, right click on any page so that the menu appear. Select the NoDoFollow option and see how: - links with DoFollow become cyan highlighted; - links with NoFollow become red highlighted Try it here in forum Previous Thread, Next Thread, Search ---- red so NoFollow tag, and other links are cyan (or whatever color is that)
