I've been posting in Yahoo Answers for quite some time now and it's been great. I get a lot of traffic from it, especially when my post was tagged as the Best Answer.
I am a contributor at Yahoo answer. And yes it helps me a lot to get visitors and traffic. But I get not enough traffic though.
of course it helps. SEO experts are recommending this method, have you search something and yahoo answers is in the first page result?
The most impressive thing about Yahoo answer's traffic is that its Targeted Traffic, because Yahoo answer's pages rank high on search engines and those visitors usualy are looking and searching for information and they click for sure. In my opinion Yahoo answer's traffic is far more valuable than Digg or stumble's traffic.
I've already reached to level 4 with spamming It all depends on the way you spam. If you show your a spammer, you're gone... Always answer in relevant questions, this makes it not fall under spamming. When you include links, dont act as being the owner, but act as being a good user of the site. And never keep your display name or avatar something which can even hint that you own the site...
Yahoo answers is a great website. I always find a lot of information on it when posting a question. Even the most random questions get answered. And its quick also.
I have used it with mix results-some times I get in trouble for putting a link and sometimes I get best answer though I haven't seen a rise in the serps it is still good for referral traffic.
In my opinion, yahoo answer is a good way to get traffic, you can solve others question, when someone ask a question related the content your site contain, you can add your site's url in it.
I do Yahoo answers too but only way to do it without spamming is answer things honestly with details and use your link with other source links. For some Niches I get traffic but for some I don't. But the traffic you get from Yahoo answers are usually high in quality.
Yes it is a good idea to become active in yahoo answers to get traffic and visitors and it is worth the time and effort.
Yes I have tried Yahoo Answers and it was one of the good way to generate good traffic, really a worth to waste your time there. Not only you can get traffic from it you can also learn on it.
Hi Jim, To be able to understand Yahoo.Answers you have to think about it like a directory. When you do that, you almost instantly realize that the traffic coming from Yahoo.Answers can be very targeted. Here is how I do it to get a few over $300 a day from Yahoo: 1. I first choose a product to promote. 2. Then I go to Yahoo.Answers and search for "unresolved questions" within my keyword. 3. Depending on results, I decide to get in or to look for another topic. (results should be over 400 or so) 4. I choose a question to answer (usually with no answers yet) and go out and outsource the topic. When I get a really helpful answer I get back in and answer the question. But this time with NO LINKS OF MY OWN. I do this about 8-10 times, each and every time before posting my "sales answer". 5. After I get the proposed amount of "free answers" I get to posting the sales one. (aka: affiliate links) One suggestion here: it is better to have your own domain forwarded to your aff link. 6. Repeat and improve. As for the SEO, I can tell you that if you search for a term in a specific market really related to your website theme, you'll definitely get value from Yahoo.Answers Not to mention highly ranked pages on Yahoo, which will only improve over time as they get indexed as well. The wrong way of doing this is by going after PR and visitors from the first time. Sometimes you can get your account banned if you do spam often. Yahoo.Answers is a great place for advertisement and a good PR resource, but only and ONLY if done correctly. When I first started, I didn't get it directly. Although, I was posting a bunch of answers, none was really picked up as a best answer. You have to know that this is KEY. If you become an authority, you'll almost certain to get your answers as "best ones". Once you do that, your answers will be on top on each questions posted and you'll have a lot of people visiting your website because you'll be recognized as an authority. Cheers,
It works for traffic up to a certain extent, but sales are not as good. A few years back, YA was a goldmine. Right now, it will send you traffic but conversions can be a hit or miss thing.
I didn't think of using Yahoo answers in this way.... I often see them in long tail search results so i think I'll give it a go Thanks!
