Can my domain name be sold?

I was wondering if a domain name I recently bought could be sold or not. I bought www.ouryoutube.com about a week ago. It was just dropped from someone who didn't renew it. I tried to list it on Sedo, and it said there was a 3rd party conflict and wouldn't list it. I think it's a great name, but I was just wondering if google will give me any shit about it or not? Thanks.:D

Trademarked domain, you are asking for trouble from youtube. Best to pick another name that ends with tube.

    static09,

To answer your original question, your domain name CAN be sold, but you would have to find a buyer that is willing to take the risk.

The risk, in this case is that Youtube is contained in the domain name, and Youtube is a trademarked name. Honestly, this is probably the reason that the former owner dropped the domain, since if they tried to market it in any way, Google would probably hit them with a cease and desist order.

I wouldn't really expect to get much, if anything, from this domain name...and especially by selling it on a major domain sales site.

    Good luck!

I suppose that any domain name can be sold. All depends on your marketing and communication skills

It is a great domain. It would be even greater if it was your original idea, and not a direct rip off of a well known corporation.
Of course Google will give you crap about it, they own You Tube, and the domain is a trademark conflict....which is probably why the other owner didn't renew it.

It is trademarked like others said, but to give an answer on your first question: Yes, it can be sold!

Trademark infringement domain!!!! I don't think anyone would even bother to sue you. The domain is not even good enough. You CAN sell it - but only on a not-so-reputable forum/site. The reputable brokers won't allow you to even list obvious trademark-infringing domain names! Nonsense. Let it go & find a keyword-rich domain for any category & develop it. You'll do better that way. No domain squatting!!!!
