It's rise to number 2 was a one day deal. Not only did it quickly fall back to number 3, it fell to search levels below Live.
The peak in Bing had to do with the loads of advertising that they have been doing. I'm sure it will surpass Yahoo again, in the long run.
I really wonder how and why do people proclaim the birth of a leader and the death too.....by just looking at the stats of each passing day! These things need lots of time and days to draw a meaningful conclusion and fair assessment about their capabilities or drawbacks. I would say...at least let a month or two go by and then assess their performance! Regards, RightMan
Yeah, maybe even longer, but if I'd have to bet, I'd bet against Bing. Microsoft never managed to grab a huge share of the search market and I don't know why Live should be more successful just because it's now Bing.
What did you expect form BING? Google is still in need of a potential rival. Google will remain king for a while. Bye bye BING
i just wanted to ask for my curiosisity that..? is the bing a new product of msn? to compete google and yhoo search engine.
I hope bing will do more than yahoo, I see that.. bing send me traffics everyday now, yahoo nothing..
let us give it some time to prove that it can make and neither post to make it dead before it get on the track .
They're spending $400 million spread out over this and next month on the promotion of Bing is what they said at their conference last week. Calling it dead 1 week in is beyond silly and ignorant of what's going on.
i noticed i was getting some traffic from it on my site it wasn't considered a search engine on Google stats though.
I'm not sure they were the ones who said it but it's $100million, not $400 million. That figure was updated recently to $80 million. No different from those, here and elsewhere, declaring it a huge success. More significant is that the numbers dropped below what it is replacing.
