Need to set up a forum from scratch please help!!

    i want to set up a phpbb forum on a subdomain
    the problem is i have no idea how to set it up.

    Do you have a host that supports fantastico? If so, just use that to create your forum, then, create the subdomain. The other option is install the script by hand, which is not very tough.

    Just go through their support document. This will guide you to complete the installation.

    ss 2 phpbb is very good you just need to make sure you keep it patched and up to date. I have created forums in phpbb for testing and left them out there only to be hacked later lol, so just be careful.

    If you still need help check out my sig and I can install a forum for you no problems!

    If you are really wanted to create a great forum you should invest in vbulletin as it is so worth it!!

    Keep it updated and make sure your plugins are secure and up-2-date.

    as many said above, old installs got hacked.
