Recently launched is Twitter Adder, price depends on the number of profiles.

They have an affiliate program that pays 25% - Check Tweet Adder Affiliate

    But there are so many...

I think a good twitter desktop client is absolutely essential to be popular on twitter. Without a desktop app u'd have to keep checking for updates manually on the web which is time-consuming. A desktop app notifies me immediately of any updates of people i'm following, and of any replies. I personally find tweetdeck great, but as I'm getting multiple profiles I might be switching to seesmic or something. Any good app to recommend for multiple accounts?

i think most twitter desktop apps need adobe air. i've tried twhirl but tweetdeck works better for me for single accounts, and i think seesmic might be more user-friendly too

I am offering Twadder which offers some of the friend adding capabilities of Hummingbird, about 10% of the cost. You can download a free trial version here

The best I've found so far is Bird Feeder. I own Hummingbird also, but Birdfeeder is more targeted and more stable and has more features.

tweetlater is cool , was just about to recommend that too, it not onle allows you to schedule posts, but also does auto follow, with rotating direct messages.

I like hummingbird, but I guess the price tag is a little high for some people. I created a Twitteradder three days ago and and set up a new twitter account in that time it's got me 600 followers. I advertised it on a free blogger blog and started to receive orders, my first buyer gave it an awesome testimonial. If you want to spend a few dollars rather than a couple of hundred on a twitter adder, you may be interested in this.

I agree, web based ones are nice, but there is a queue you must wait in. Also all requests come from the same IP. But desktop ones won't do it automatically, so you have a trade off there.

I think paying anything for something that is using twitters API is robbery. Twitter hands you a bot on a plate and people stick a skin on it and sell it.

You can get my auto follow tool from http://www.pyrogenicmedia.com, Completely free ofcourse :)

there is no such thing as "the best twitter tool".

Use them together and use tools that complement each other and you earn with twitter.
