I just check my AdSense account and see a 125% CTR on AdSense for search. A small new site, with few visitors. 6 clicks for 5 searches made. Do you think I have to be worried about that ? And what do you think Google is going to think about it ? Any advices will be appreciated, thanks.
Yes, as you said, my CTR is way to high... I will email Google, but what is going to happen...? Did such a thing ever happen to you ?
Not necessarily a bad thing; that can happen as well with normal ads when a user happens to click more than one ad without reloading/refreshing the page. Good to email Google, if that's what you end up with your CTR for the day being at, but otherwise, probably not too much worth worrying about.
It's not bad at all, sometimes I even see 600% ctr on brand new sites, I've always been paid by google for these clicks. Don't worry about it.
Thanks FuzzyLogic, it's reassure me. I don't really care about "to be paid" or "not to be paid', but rather "to get banned" or "not to get banned" Well, I just send a mail to AdSense, I will see what will be the answer.
6 clicks from 5 isn't weird for me, there can be a visitor who clicks on 6 ads. You can be worried, if you probaly have 125 clicks and 100 impressions. I think that mailing G! for this is nonsense.
it's a click on an ad then the user clicks back, then clicks on another ad. First time, they count the impression, second time, the page is dispalyed from the fresh cache. That's a nice explanation. I had 300% ctr, with 3 clicks and 1 impression on a mortgage site, so it's ok. Vladimir
lol, 5 impressions and 6 clicks and you're worried? Google has over 10000000 websites to worry about...I don't think 6 clicks will get you in the red zone. Now if you said 500 clicks with 125% CTR, that's a different story.
This not a problem of absolute value I think, this a matter of relative value. If AdSense fraud detection algorithm is based on statistic (what I think) , I guess you can get banned for 5 fraudulent clics as well as for 500. Moreover, I know some very small web site, with very few hits who get banned. I think Google don't care much about the size. No mercy. fraud = ban, whatever the size of the fraud.
I'd hope that AdSense's click fraud detection algos work on a logarithmic scale... I'll tell this story once again - I got around 350% CTR for a new site using the search bar and emailed Google, they told me it was fine and I kept the payout (part of it, at least). Remember that the clicks you see in your AdSense stats are post clickfraud detection, and may be adjusted even further from then. Email them, ignore the naysayers.
Thanks Art, I did email them. Are you sure that the clicks seen in the AdSense stats are post clickfraud detection ? I never read that before. Maybe I don't read enough Any sources ?
I've read so much random stuff in this business I forget my sources, but I'll see if I can find that particular one for you Logically though, it goes with the way AdWords shows their stats. If, for some other reason after your stats are displayed they're found to be fraudulent, they'll correct them as well, so I'm assuming it's a multi tiered process. If anyone has anything to the contrary, I'm very keen to hear
i guess its clear now. if you see the same trend for long, say more then couple of hundred clicks then you should mail google and express your concern. its always better to be safe then sorry, but i guess 5 -6 clicks are not to worry. and hey, when i doubt just mail google , it won't hurt!
I have 400%-1000% CTR for searches sometimes! ... especially on brand new sites where pages are not crawled yet. I own a hosting business and have google search on most of my clients' error 404 pages. It takes only 1 dodo to search for pages on your site and return no results except ads. That makes sense he will click all the ads 1 by 1.
