HeadOn - Apply Directly to the Forehead

    Does anyone else think this commercial is the worst attempt at marketing ever? They may be creating buzz and getting people to talk about how incredibly annoying their commercial is. But I think people are more likely to go berserk on the headon display at a drugstore than actually buy the crap.

    They seem to show it constantly on channels I used to like, and I find myself changing to something with less annoying commercials.

    You have just proved that the commercial works.

    It uses repetition to get into your mind. It also becomes viral, because people, like you talk about it. Good or bad doesn't matter.

    Totally agree. I can't even count how many times friends/family make negative comments about commercials, when they fail to realize it's servering its purpose just by you talking about it.

    I HATE this commercial! It's so funny you posted because my son and I laugh, then immediately turn the channel when it comes on. But I have to say it might hold true that all publicity is good -- just make an annoying commercial and at least they are talking about your product.

    I agree that generating buzz and viral marketing are usually great things for marketing campaigns.

    However, this commercial crosses the line from "Hey, that's catchy and quirky, I just may mention it at the water cooler tomorrow", to "dear god, I would rather endure an earth-shattering migraine than hear that commercial again".

    Every time I see the HeadOn commercial during a show, I instantly change the channel, because I know it will annoy me and be shown constantly. I don't think I've ever avoided a show because of a commercial before.

    It's still succeeding, because we are talking about it. Keep in mind that there's a major difference between talking about a product in a negative fashion, such as it doesn't work, which is bad, and talking about a commercial that bugs you, which is good.

    its anoying, they just keep repeating the same thing but it works cause everyone here knows what we are talking about lol.

    repetition does work for them because they play the commercial over and over like they play one and a another on just with a different background directly after the first. i seen it on cnn and some other channels
