Here is one of my older affiliate sites: http://www.worldgemguide.com And here is one of the landing pages: http://www.worldgemguide.com/sapphire.htm Any thoughts or feedback? It could really benefit from being seen by new eyes. Thanks, Ty
I think the best script you need is called knowledge. If you have the knowledge, you don't need any other script. There is one way of HTTP 400 redirection and HTTP 301 redirection. You create false links and the person who enters the false link gets an error and redirects to you lets say 404.php file. The 404.php file analyzes the URL and displays the content relative to the requested URL
now about the design and layout. why is your site aligned to right???? why don't you make it either centered or full page Left menu bar: "Spessartite Garnet (247)" is on two lines, make it on one line, make the width of that column a bit bigger. Like for this one also "Padparadscha Sapphire (266)" Why don't you remove the borders in the right for the links and Google AdSense make it go with your content
I wrote the engine for this site myself about a year and a half ago. It's not something I can share. Ty
I did a lttle research... It seems Ebay affiliates provide a number of tools and programs that will enable a ambitious coder to whip this stuff right out.. By the way I felt the layout, functionality and general design to be very nice. IMO, I would concentrate on the marketing. This is pretty work. Congrats!
Sounds a bit shady. I am sure there are better and more legit methods than harvesting ( like maybe ebay affiliates). I usually find that there is no need to re-invent the wheel. I'll opt for doing my own coding when there is not an easier method...
Hello, I'm a bit confused about the 404/300 comments also. Are you talking about scraping or did you find an error on my site? Please explain. I appreciate the comments! I'll try to blend the AdSense better. The page is already approacing max width for 1024. Should I just go for it and focus on that as a min res? The right alignment is a by-product of the design and my lack of CSS knowledge. It will be fixed in the redesign. Thanks for the compliments. World Jewelry Guide is coming soon and will rock thansk to your feedback. Ty
The site looks good. One of the better looking "ebay" sites. Care to share how much this thing pulls in in a month?
Don't be confused I talked about ways of having static links with dynamic content. You don't have any errors there
No problem. Just never heard of that technique. Mod_rewrite is so powerful and flexible. Why not just use that? Ty
Well but you can't use it with ASP, its a PHP function as I know, but I tried to explain it with any other programming language
Mod_rewrite is actually an Apache module. I'm sure there is something similar available for other web servers. Isn't there.... Ty
