How do I become a successful affiliate?

    Hi,

I have AdSense on my website to make some money, but now I want to become an affiliate. I found a good product to sell on my site. But how do I make people buy this product?

Do I have to make a new section on my website to promote and inform about the product? Or is it better to place banners and links throughout the main website?

    Regards,

    Tim

Write out a profile of who your target market is

    Find out how they think

Determine if your product fits your target market

    Revise your marketing materials accordingly

Find out where they are online

Use tips and traffic trends from Digitalpoint and free traffic blogs like http://www.highrevenue.com

I started writing a page that informs potential customers. They can buy the product on this page. Do you think it's still beneficial to place some banners and text links throughout the site to this page or to the 'buy-page'?

Hi waxman1000, what if there are clicks on the the banners where there seems to be interest but no one is buying the products. How do i know where the problem lies?

start building backlinks on places like socialmarker.com or get bookmarking demon, write articles about your product and post it on ezine, or create a youtube video with your webpage in the title and you can go to top results of google quickly (little trick) or buy the top 10 best sellers off amazon, then resell them all at the lowest price available so u will be on the top and place an ad for your site in there.

Put a link or banner on your site

If you have a newsletter put out an email to your subscribers telling them why you like the product and how it can help them and give them your affiliate link

create a new page on your site that reviews the product - tell the good and the bad and give it a rating out of 10

on your review page put a email capture at the top and or bottom of the page telling them if they sign up they will get a free report or something free that relates to the product. Then create 2-4 emails to follow up that promote the product (this can be done using services like Getresponse.com or Aweber.com

Then drive traffic to your review page by writing articles and posting them on sites like ezinearticles.com, go articles, create a hubpage.com al with links to your review page. Also consider PPC for traffic

seems like a lot of work but after you do it once or twice it becomes easy, and those that do the hard work are the ones that succeed.

    Good luck

The internet is just a big ball of links. Keep that in mind and it will open to you.

Make your site useful and informative. Show that you are an trusted 'expert' in your field. Then you can personally recommend affiliated products and people will trust you to buy them. Don't just put a banner up, tell them why you personally recommend the product, maybe write a review. Perhaps even allow comments on your reviews. This will greatly increase your sales. People are far more likely to buy when trusted friends have discussed the product.
