lol The percentage of female members here is very low to create a dating site. People here have been asking to add a Hosting section here for such a long time. Shawn is not even interested in that, let alone dating.
If you are really actually interested in a dating site, check out www.okcupid.com. I was tossing around the idea of starting a dating site (completely unrelated to digitalpoint.com) and was researching the competition. That site pretty much made me not make my own because it was too good. From a purely technical standpoint it's pretty neat because the more questions you answer (questions are submitted by other users), the better it matches you up based on the intersection of questions both people answered. It's pretty neat actually... I've never actually met or talked to anyone from it myself (was just researching stuff), but it sucks you in with the questions. Based on those questions, it can tell you about yourself, and you can compare yourself (or two other people) to each other... The best dating site I think is www.calipeoplemeet.com they have some sites for Jewish dating, republican dating, any kind of dating. (check out "I'm interested", you click yes or no on the pictures coming at you, and if you click yes, the person gets notified. Very efficient.)
It depends on the business model free/paid and how popular they are - as with any site., The big ones make millions per year.
