I know you'll all probably say wordpress, but which CMS is easiest to design a custom theme from scratch. Hope that makes sense!!! I have used wordpress in the past, but usually customise an existing theme.
it's still wordpress ^^ because its source code is very clean and easy to understand . Making a template for WP from scratch is just design a static website and adding wp API I could make a wordpress theme from scratch in one day but it take a week for another cms such as Joomla or E7 or Drupal
Really the ease of theme creation for most any platform can depend largely on the tools you have available for the task. If you use Dreamweaver, there are a few tools which make theme creation simple for Drupal and Wordpress: Theme Dreamer for WordPress - I haven't used it but it looks very useful. The Drupal Dream Theme Utility Suite - a Dreamweaver Extension I created for the Drupal CMS, of course I'm slightly biased but I use it to create custom Drupal themes from scratch in half the time it would otherwise take. If you don't use Dreamweaver, I have read good things about Artisteer, which has products available for both Drupal and Wordpress. As far as which CMS would be easier overall, again it depends - if you don't have any coding skills already, probably WordPress, although personally I prefer Drupal because you can easily create and implement alternate layouts for different pages. I like wordpress and I have used it on my all sites, I have never tried joomla but heard good reviews for it as well
In no way I can say drupal. I have been developing themes in drupal. But i always have to use some pre-existing themes. Suggestion use zen STARTERKIT It like building theme from scratch. There is no way that you could make a working theme for drupal from scratch under a week if you havent done this before.
For ease of design joomla has been A LOT easier then wordpress. Wordpress you have to spilt your template into min 3 files, with joomla your just adding 1 line of code each time you want something to be editable.
Hahaha.. I use Wordpress with Genesis Framework. That way I can make my custom design easily because I already have the framework. -cypher.
As per my view, Wordpress will be best CMS. It is an open source that offers huge benefits to update, distribute and share. Using it, you will be able to get high-profile clients, and it will also API support. Wordpress web design will have more flexibility.
Most of us are in agreement on this one... WordPress... it's logically sound when it comes to templating.
