Hey, Welcome to HostLatch. Dropped an iTrader point for you. C'lown is right this time, please ignore that, and you may cancel anytime.. 30 days is not required. Thank you, ~ Adam
Is it just me or is this service painfully slow? I wanted to try it for a month before I jumped into a commitment. I can't even seem to upload 10MB of files without FTP stalling and just sitting there. I've also noticed my SSH session has serious lag on it during the day. I type the command ls -alh and 6 seconds later I see results. This is indicative that something is wrong. It's not my connection, also. Adam how do you advise?
Hey wahyan, Unfortunately, I cannot do that. Hey xSubmerged, I think it is just you and your far routing to the VPS location. Do you want to move to our brand new VPS node that we just bought yesterday, located in Tampa, Flordia? Thank you, ~ Adam
Hi, C'lown, No man, its his far routing to Washington VPS node. We already moved him to our new Flordia VPS node. We have over 13 servers online now. This thread is only for people that are interested. Sorry!
So let's be reasonable here. I'm going to under-estimate all values. Let's say you assign each person 1 GB of RAM. I'm 99% sure that you don't have any servers that have more than 8 GB of RAM. If you do, your paying a ton of $$ for them. (even worse) So, without overselling you can fit 8 clients per node. Let's say you spend an average of $130/month per server. That's $1690 per month, for 13 nodes. With 8 clients per server, you can maintain a current total of 104 clients. 104 x $6 = $624 revenue per month $1690 - $624 = $1066 $1066 negative revenue per month. Do you seriously expect all of us to believe that your loosing this much money each month? Your either doing 1 of 2 things: A: Being extremely unreasonable with yourself, and hoping one day things work out. Next thing you know, your going to be in over $5,000 debt. B: You're overselling like crazy. Your using OpenVZ. It's very easy to oversell with OpenVZ, and make it look like you aren't. Either way, your "company" probably won't be around more than 2-3 months. However, if your so certain that you will be, then why don't you take a minute and explain my findings above? Just to make sure we're on the same page, I'm not trying to personally attack you. This just really doesn't make any sense. My findings above could be figured out by any 7 year old. It's simple math. PS: Professional hosts don't call people "man". It's sir to you.
I have mentioned the word over, I have over 13 servers. And servers don't cost $130/month for me, I have special deals with a datacenter. You are only making a fool out of yourself here.
I don't believe he is "making a fool of himself". He is just expressing his opinion. I do not want to argue about anything, this is just a little side comment.
Dude with your prices in another thread: 1GB for $10 -- on an 8GB RAM machine, and leaving _at least_ 1GB of RAM available for the hostnode itself (which you SHOULD) you are only making $70 TOTAL/month without overselling. That is an exceptional deal, and the datacenter must only give it to YOU because you have a whopping 13 servers. It's impossible to make any profit on these deals without heavy overselling. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm sure this buisness will be gone in 3 months just like awesomehost(.co.uk). Hope your clients take backups
Hi, We have been up for 2 years already and we will not run, awesomehost.co.uk didn't run, all services were up but due to the owner getting busy, I bought the company and servers are all up. You may want to check on your information before posting. I'll post more information when I get on a computer, I'm on my iPhone now.
guys, I think you should stop posting in someones else sales thread. better open a separate thread and discuss if you want. Customers are smarter these days, you can't fool them. they know everything. Good luck for your sales, HostLatch
anyone else getting slow speeds to the VPS in the UK? dont worry, this isnt a rant! im on VPS2 i think.
