It depend on how you define emo band....If you wanted you can call Nirvana emo band too. Pop emo kid band like fall out boy suck big time... some like A perfect circle is good. I hate Dave Mattew, John Mayer kind of band...freaking gay
Nirvana ≠emo granted, I'm not an emo expert but no way that you can lump Nirvana into that category. what about the Ramones then??? didn't think so. help an old guy out here...have I even heard of a 'popular' emo band?? edit: my bad, you said depends on how you define it. maybe that's why anything and everything following the 'grunge' years was automaticall labeled "alternative"
It is just hard to define what emo is, so do many genre.... according to allmusic.com weezer is emo too there is a lot so call emo band like - fallout boy, Panic at the disco, my chemical romance, coheed and cambria and many other crap band
ok, that makes sense now. I've 'heard of' most of those. I'm so clueless that I had to look it up when I first joined myspace last March!

'metal' is very loose. you mean like A) Judas Priest, Metallica, B) Slayer, Pantera, etc. or C) anything harder than Tom Petty? I like metal, just not the death/grindcore stuff. you know, where the lead singer sounds like he just swallowed a chicken bone(sideways) and wants to kill all his neighbors.
what are emo bands? I dislike heavy metal (hair bands from the 80's) and rap. Most new stuff feels like its pumped out a music grinder, so I don't listen to it so much either. Best music is from the 80's
nothing worst than hair band. and they should not call heavy metal and there is no rap nowaday, they are just pop song. underground rap is always good.
look above, "there is a lot so call emo band like - fallout boy, Panic at the disco, my chemical romance, coheed and cambria and many other crap band" right, the hair bands - Winger, Poison, Firehouse, Warrant, etc... I do like watching VH1's, "Where are they now" so see what all those "musicians" are up to though.
