Hello i read in an ebook that the pagerank algorithm is 0.15+(0.85*(a 'share' of Pr from other sites))=Our PR Share= page's PR/no.of links present in that page so if i have 10 links from a PR0 site, will i be able to Get PR1??
PR is rounded down, so a site showing PR0 on the tool bar could be 0.00 (blocked from passing PR, just doesn't have any, or a new page) or it could be a PR 0.99 (almost 1) - but you have no way of knowing. PR is divided between the number of links on the page, so you would need to factor that in. In would be extremely rare to have 10 backlinks with only one link on it. These would also need to be links from different sites to pass 85% of their PR (i.e. not 10 links from the same site). If your only quest is to raise PR, you should forget about PR0 backlinks.
Thanks for ansuering my doubt vicky and mjewel... so, getting a back link from a site with PR1 and 1 Outgoing link is much better than a site with PR5 and 25 outgoing links right?......
No, it isn't. Each step in PR requires approximately 6X the PR. So a PR 1.00 (with one link) would pass a PR of 0.85. But you need approximately 1300 PR 1 links to get a PR5 (actually more because only 85% passes) But using 1300, a PR5 divided by 25 = 52. So the PR5 link would be worth 52 PR1 links. Again, these are just rough estimates. If you are trying to rank for a keyword, get relevant links from trusted sites (sites that already rank high for the keyword) and forget about PR.
i don't agree with the formula as its not necessary to have share of other sites........ on our sites......... for getting pr........... what the formula for them ?
Google is keep on update the algorithm calulation, the formula you show only for reference, not accurate enough
