no. there will one day be a 'google killer', but this isn't it. That's not actually how people search for stuff online.
The site that will be the next google will be.. Google. Wolfram alpha is not a traditional search engine, it's a knowledge base
Seems like people still can't understand that the goal of wolframalpha is not at all to 'kill Google'...
There are different type of search engine. Wolfram alpha is knowledge base or we call them as answer type search engine. They will only provide you one answer (or 1 search result).
I couldn't get it to work, not even once most of my search queries weren't understandable to their engine !!!? So, IMHO.. I simply don't think it's going to kill any SE
Is the elephant a lion killer? In this case it really is borderline apples and oranges; seems like many of the pop culture and random searches aren't handled well in Wolfram. This isn't to say one day they can expand the algorithm, but Google relies on offpage and onpage seo to give the most relevant, up to date results. Hard to top that unless you do something as drastic as Wolfram has...which is different, not worse or better necessarily.
How is it a "google killer". Its not even remotely related to Google or a traditional SE in the Search Engine sense of the word. It's almost completely useless to anyone for more than 5 minutes of entertainment. It serves a different niche', and by "niche'" I mean, SMALL "niche'". Google will survive.
i think this site may be a math killer this is very helpful for math imo but i dont know if it will ever top google also it does not have an attractive name
It's not user friendly at all. Unless you are typing in a basic math equation, I don't know how it's supposed to work. Let's face it - simplicity is needed if they want to compete with Google. People like Google because it's so simple to use.
...and why do people keep saying that Bing (the decision engine) is competing against Google (the search engine) two COMPLETELY different things........................ cough
