Problem in 'AKismet' Plugin of Wordpress

Well, from the time I upgraded this plugin there is something like this written on the top of my WP Dashboard --

Akismet is almost ready. You must enter your WordPress.com API key for it to work.

By the way what is the use of this plugin??

And how to enter that API key? I am not getting that anywhere??

you need to register on wordpress.com to get your key for akismet. Once you've registered, go to your profile, your key will be listed there.

No. If you are using the latest version of Word Press, there is a link with that message that takes you to your word press.com account and your API Key...it says something like "Get your API key here". You use the same key for everything that asks for it.

The plug in is to reduce the amount of spam comments on your blog.

 

You can use the same API key in multiple blogs. It helps to reduce spam comments.
