I've converted it and made the quality about 100kb but don't most people have DSL now? They load rather fast for me. Also you can't sacrifice too much of the quality or the images to start deteriorate and goes into "false positive" type classification. This is a problem with digital photography for many paranormal investigators.
I like your website anyway. I think you should show more article/posting in a page instead of 2. Add "read more" link to your post, it won't make your whole article appear on the page, visitor need to click on read more to read the entire article If you need my help, just pm me

Well the information on my website is the evidence I put forward. I try to give what little information there is on each piece but sometimes there is next to none.
I like your site although for SEO it could use more links. Do you have the plug ins google-sitemap-generator and platinum-seo-pack? It will do some back end work to help SE crawl your blog.

Thanks for the input all I don't actually have the google site map gen or seo plugin installed, that is something to think about. And my overall reading of many webmaster sites has stated what dephyr has. That when you write articles it needs to contain more of your keywords. This is def. something to think about as well.
Good luck, paranormal is very hard to rank high in. I have a few sites on that niche. I would use other key words and try to get traffic that way
It has a PR1 which surprised me because I'm not doing anything really. But once that happened it made me want to push it to the limit and get it higher.
Having a high pagerank isn't that hard. all my sites are pagerank 3. my ghost site though ranks poor because you have so many sites on the paranormal. just look at all the tv shows or just think about the first 5 that have ranked high for awile. then look at wiki and about.com. most of those sites have a pagerank of about 5. then take a look at the backlinks they have or who is linking to them. if you even want to come close, you will need lots of backlinks, quality backlinks and alot of time. If I was you and wanted to rank good, I would have good articles using the keywords I want to rank in. then use article directories, Social Bookmarks, directories, link exchanges with other paranormal sites. it will take some time and you will have to do this almost daily

I don't have a section for link exchanges and my ghost site is under construction. but just make sure to have the title of the article use the keywords you want to rank in
