I have a music website, but I am not getting many visits. The website is legit, meaning I have original content. Can someone point me out ways to get more visits? I won't post the link here so people don't think I am using the forum to advertise my website.

i would submit the site to some pr blogs and directories and use a broad keyword. if you dont know bout the keyword go to google adwords. if your domain and site are around a good keyword you don't even need pr. A good example is my site greenmowers.org in green mowers

    The site looks very nice.

As drewtoby mentions, adding comments to blogs (with a PR) with a link can work nicely to start with, also look for some niche music directories and perhaps try some link exchanges with other music sites if you have space for links.

Also check for music forums and create profiles in these and try to add a few posts a day, adding your forum to your signature.

If you have information on specific bands/music, trying deep linking and also popping an link in the external links section on wikipedia (its no follow, but these links bring my music sites some nice traffic).

Check in yahoo answers to see if there are any music related questions so you can pop a link in those and also if you have blog posts, try digging them on digg.com (don't worry too much about getting any diggs).

All of the above can help to build up your links and hopefully will bring you some extra traffic.

That site has a lot of potential.

I see you're on twitter but don't neglect starting a facebook fan page, I receive more hits from facebook than twitter.

    Comment on popular music blogs.

    Keep quality content coming.

Maintain a presence in popular music forums.

One glaring thing I see missing is ONpage SEO. The website is easy on the eyes so I don't think bounce will be a huge issue. I notice the urls look properly formatted but each page has the exact same title. ToStartAFire is great for the start of the title but make sure to include specifically what each page is about and what keywords it represents....then of course the fun process of link building begins.
