Real posters don't have links in their sigs!

As a new forum poster here, I see so many people trying to attempt to linkbuild through their forum sigs! LOL

My challenge is this, if you are really confident that your SEO/Linkbuilding strategy will work, then there is no need to show off any links in your sig because almost always the content is completely irrelevant to this site.

Also, people who post links in thier posts as an attempt to link build, that is just pathetic.

    My 2 cents.

Forum signature is part of SEO/Linkbuilding strategy.

Moreover, some of the member here lease there signature out to people who need them. If you dont have a site to put in your signature, you can rent it out.

Yeah, also a lot of people write three word posts, start unnecessary or already existing threads again.. That's what people do. Look at the social network sites - most of the things people do there is just the same - bullshit and spam :) That's just what people like nowadays ;)

Haha, yeah, well seeing things like "powereleveling" "car directory" is what I was talking about. Moreso service providers of seo or anything relevant to this site is probably very good for linkbuilding.

I guess I'm looking at it from another perspective, I don't want to show my site because I don't want people seeing my SEO strategies?

Regardless, I wrote this post just to tease :)

Why wouldn't you use every available source at your disposal to make yourself known? The big plus about putting links in your signature is it is free and requires a very small time investment on your part. So, the real question is why wouldn't you do it as part of a solid marketing strategy?

In all actuality, I have to disagree with your post. The relevance of a link to the site it's on really only matters when you're concerned with generating traffic. And even then, people interested in your niche may be on a totally unrelated site and will click your link because of personal preference. So, for you to knock people when you are slightly misguided is just wrong.

    But, that's my opinion.

If people find it useful for their own purposes, why should we say otherwise?

Let's just mind our own businesses and let members, forums be themselves.

No need to complain if there was no offense done or intended. However, this post is offensive and uncalled for. People want to be uplifted not intimidated. I hope you're better than most members who employ this technique. If you are, good for you. But this is no way to treat those who just don't cut it the way you do.

Ah sorry my joke didn't work as I planned.

See if you are signed up to this site, and don't have many posts or are new, you cannot post outbound links, nor can you put up links in your sig. I was trying to play on that but it was missed. So apologies for sounding arrogant or annoying, although it was part of my joke, it was taken the wrong way.

You were not annoying, just arrogant.

And I see no indication in your post that it was meant to be a joke other than the "LOL" part. Don't say, "show off any link on your signature," "content is completely irrelevant to this site," "pathetic..." if you want people to find humor in your post.

Choose your words properly to reflect your thoughts or intentions, so others won't misinterpret you or get back at you. Do it next time so you won't get replies like this, or worst, banned.

I personally think forum sigs are great. Also, if the person is not interested in whatever you have posted in your sig they don't click it.. As simple as that..

Where was the joke? Must have missed it. I have established myself on DP. Why shouldn't I have the right to make use of my signature link space?

I can't be bothered with forum sigs, putting things like 'Bus Wankers' in it is far more amusing

I don't think that there is anything wrong in using signature link, as there is no restriction for doing it.... :)

Hey guys, lighten up a little, at least some of you ;)

I thinks it's OK, as far as you don't post irrelevant nonsens and you try to stay on-topic and contribute something to the discussion. Some people do fill up the forums with completely useless stuff, but I suppose (hope) that they get banned after some time.

I see most people posting on this tread try to hide their links. That is what is really pathetic. Every link counts remember! Just that some may have stronger weight than others!

Why do you think this forum is irrelevant to what their links are talking about? This forum like all the other forums on the internet is a well diversified place. There are lots and lots of discussion going on here. You can talk about anything you want to, provided you post it in the right forum!
