    Hi,
    Look at this site:
    http://www.xdmoz.com

Look under any category that has some links like

    http://www.xdmoz.com/Computers/Bulletin_Board_Systems/

That layout itself is very annoying. But see the first entry in the list of links. The thumbnail shown is of yahoo.com , but the links beside it are Google Adsense links. And I dont see any 'Ads by Google' text. Can someone clarify this?

Well, that is a well known directory, so you'd think they would have it down. But I see 6 google ads on 1 page, and also see "Sponsored Links" with google ads below it. Putting sponsored links above it makes me think they are telling people to click on the ads. Is it against the TOS to put sponsored links above google ads?

Google allows to have "sponsored links" above ads.

They also say that you cannot remove or hide the 'Ads By Google' and it is not being shown here. Just look at the first entry in the 'Standard Listing'. Its a google ad, but there is no 'Ads by Google'. The say in their policies that:

Elements on a page must not obscure any portion of the ads, and the ad colors must be such that any ad elements, including text and URL, are visible.

Hmm... I tried in both Opera and Firefox, in both 800x600 and 1024x768.

I have attached a screenshot that shows Firefox at 1024x768. I have right-clicked a google ad here. The URL is shown in the status bar. But the block of ads doesn't show 'Ads by Google'
