Ok, here's my take: You feature “The†Holiday Blog! at the top left corner where your logo should be.. in non-festive, not-fun Arial black? Why not kill that needless text and replace it with your "It's summertime at festivityblog.com" banner-which is so much more visually appealing? Get rid of the blue border at the top, reduce the size of the top text and have it floating on the yellow background if that's the color scheme you want to stick with. Your top margins are too wide and crowding out your content below the fold. Your holiday ideas are really cute-but there's not enough of them visible text to hook the reader before they get bored and wander off. Remember, most users are too lazy to scroll down the page if they don't see something interesting within the first 2 seconds. Plus, your sponsored ads are competing with your content..and winning. I'd drop them down below "recent posts" to make your page look cleaner.
