    How can you explain this?

    Might be a blip in the toolbar or whatever you are using to check your PageRank.

    Your site might have been penalised or had its PR manually adjusted.

    It is hard to say without knowing the URL.

    Thanks Brian

    Usually after a PR update, there's what's called PR adjustment. Hence your PR might have been adjusted to reflect the real PR it deserves.

    Probably you didnt care to build any links once you got pr2. The rule is keep building links then only the pr will increase or will be stable

    This is how it was explained to me by and SEO friend of mine;

    The PR update is by computer and then they manually assess any sites that have triggered a flag in the program.

    They then either penalise or downgrade PR for the site if it has been wrongly awarded a PR increase.

    Basically though, your PR doesn't mean a great deal, it's your SEO, qualified traffic and converted unique hits that count!

    What's your site URL? I see you can't post links either, so you may have to come up with a creative way to include it.

    It clearly shows your back links are not supportive to your site any more. I have a site whose PR was 5 the day before and on this updation it was PR4. But the good thing came along, there were many pages of the site upgraded from Zero to 2, 3 and even 4.

    That is because you do not have any sites linking to that page. If you use the command link:site name - a search for that page returns 0 results.

    To have a PR of 4, you would need at least 100 results with the link: command, which might equal out to over 5,000 - 6,000 total links. Because the link: command only shows a fraction of the total links.

    So somehow, you lost 5,000+ links to that page?

    And your main page, tpservice.org only shows to have 3 sites linking to it. But some how that subpage had over 100 results?

    My main forum has over 6,000 links pointing to the home page and has a page rank of 4. Using the link: command only about 160 links are shown.

    If that page had a PR of 4, it had to have about the same number of links as my forum. But most of your links disappeared overnight?

    Something does not look or sound right.
