I have a blog, it gets 7000 unique visits a day and is rank ~90 000 in Alexa. It's a blog about young celebrities and I bought some links. My best page rank was 4 after 2 and now 0. I bought some links and registered in directories, so what did I do wrong? it changed in only 3 months. Can you help me?
Google could have caught those sites that sold you links and stopped them from passing page rank. If you sold any links, that could also be the problem.
If your web rankings have remained the same, forget about the matter of PR unless you are interested in selling advertising spots and links from your web pages.
If this is the reason for the PR drop, you'll have to stop selling links and request reconsideration via Google Webmasters. However, you'll never really know if this is the problem for the drop in PR. If your traffic is still holding up don't worry too much.
It's a double edged sword - your probably selling links to people who want the PR - and if you keep selling those links, you're PR isn't going to come back and those people won't want to buy links. If you remove the links, the PR can come back but you can no longer sell links to people for purposes of passing PR. You either have to remove the links or add "nofollow" to them if you want to make a reconsideration request.
You should use more natural forms of link building and not give your own link equity away for a few dollars.
The Pagerank is more and more complex by Google. Since many peoples do selling link based on PR so Google just create a new filter to get some links filtered out. The links which passed PR to your site today may not in tomorrow. Your amount of links may be the same but the PR can still be decreased. If you are really worry about PR and not about your site ranking position, just do acquire any links in front of you regardless of quality and relative. Your site PR may be higher next time when Google update before the new filter pushed your PR out and slapped on your site ranking.
Google would definitely penalize those who trade links. Even Google Japan was penalized for such activity.
It normally happen when you are selling link, remove those link and your PR will be back to normal on next update
Wow....this is great news! Google penalized its own subsidiary! Can you post the link to your source..please! I very much doubt of this thing ever happening.... Regards, RightMan
Yes, google lowered their own page rank for paid posts. Matt Cutts talks about it here. http://videos.webpronews.com/2009/0...half-of-googles-penalty-against-google-japan/
When you buy or sell a link, it should use the nofollow tag. That instructs google not to use that link when factoring pagerank. Its ok to buy and sell links- there is nothing wrong with that. But links that were bought and sold must use the nofollow tag. If you sold links from your site, tag them with rel="nofollow" Besides that, stop doing link exchanges and stop buying and selling links. Be sure to read through the google webmaster guidleines.
Note google gives good page rank to good websites with good links... It is important for SERP, and PR to have useful website As I understand google did not banned you, but penalitied your website (it happens to some of my websites) Just check the traffic source of your website, how often you update it and are you selling or buying links... All these things are causing your low PR
Google is pretty open about their link buying rules. I only had about 9 or so Google links. I have never bought or sold any links, but what I did do is I have had a large number reciprocal links from other people wanting to trade links. I dumped all of my reciprocal links and my Google links are up 300% and still growing. Adding new fresh content monthly and quality inner page backlinks will result in getting some PageRank back. Getting dropped by a PageRank 6 site that was transferring PageRank to your site will hurt you as well. It’s like getting hundreds of PageRank 1 site dropping you. I hope things work out for you.
I have a blog, it gets 7000 unique visits a day and is rank ~90 000 in Alexa.? usually this blog also has the PR4 or high rank? why your blog PR reduce to 0, maybe you use some spam to improve your blog.
