Questions about PPC marketing

I've dabbled in PPC to promote my affiliate marketing sites, with the majority of my success using YSM to EPN sites.

I'd like to take things to the next level and promote offers and goods and using landing pages or direct linking (when allowed).

I have a few questions, and I'm hoping that some of you might be able to help.

    - What types of numbers are you going for when picking potential offers/goods? Meaning, is there a 'formula' where you weigh the commission vs. the keyword cost? I'd like to weed out some non-profitable offers right away, and go with offers that won't eat me alive if they don't convert while clicks are still happening.

    - When do you decide to pull the plug on a campaign if it's not showing profit? Or positive signs of succeeding?

    - What is the daily limit do you like to set for campaigns? Along with that, is there keyword bid amounts you never go over?

I'd like to explain my position. I don't have a ton cash to burn, but realize it takes money to make money here. I'd like to minimize my risks as much as possible so hoping that I might learn some good rules of thumb to avoid getting massively burnt.

I've never had ANY success in AdWords in the past which is all related to my technique and inexperience. I'd like to turn that around.

    Thanks!

If you are paying for PPC then you need results. Results should comes in after a few weeks or sometimes even months. Now,the time to change is when you feel nothing is working or improving.

    Hello joey4

Thanks for the reply. That's a good point with a 'flat' campaign. When do you decide to pull the plug if you're losing money? Meaning, I spent $100, but only earned $50 over 1 week span. How long would you see if this turns around? Do you immediately stop the campaign if you're losing over a few days, etc?

    Thanks!
