If it is self hosted just upload the theme using an ftp program then activate it through your dashboard.

Do you want to change the template or just modify the one you have.

To change a template you upload a new template to your templates folder. You then activate that template and fix the things that change. You do this with cPanel or FTP to uplaod and activate through your Admin Panel. It's actually a good idea to disable plugins and turn back on one at a time afterwards.

To modify a template you need to open it in the Admin Panel Theme Editor and insert or remove pieces of code directly.

You know people overlook the value of YouTube here... it's great for finding simple videos for "How to" things. Give it a shot.

    1. Get a free "Adsense ready" theme.
    2. Upload it to the Wordpress themes folder and activate it in the dashboard.
    3. Do whatever the theme says to get it to use your ad code.

Changing theme will not affect your posts. But to be on a safe side, always backup your blog before making any changes.

Just install wp db backup plugin at your blog and take backup regularly through admin panel (daily, weekly, monthly) whenever you want.

When you download wordpress adsense optimized theme, make sure it is from a site which has "good reputation", otherwise some free themes put some "unwanted" links without your consent.
