The baby doesn't breathe with the lungs because it is in the womb. However, the baby isn't part of the mother but it is a seperate organism.
how separate. inside the body. surrounded by body fluid. sustained with mothers blood. there are a lot of body parts that are separate organisms. heart for example. testicles. they are all separate organism. how is it different? breathing with lungs is a prerequisites of being a mammal. humans are mammal. so breathing by lungs is a prerequisites for being human. that is why it is fetus not baby. it is human body part. until it is born and breaths. then it becomes baby. you see a very clear and logical eventline. not a timeline.

@hostlonestar i hope i shed some light for you as to start of human life. and i think my view should end the abortion argument issue for people that are not religious, if they really want to understand about the science and biological issues . i am still waiting for a religious debate on the issue to end this controversy on that basis only.

if this is what you are talking about i ignored it because it does not contradict what i say. i do not say that fetus is not alive. i say it is alive like any other part of mothers body. i say it is no more or no less human than her nose. i say the process of reproduction finishes after birth with the first breath of air. at that point it becomes a human being and is no longer body part.
