OK, 3 days left till next YPN payments. Good new? Not for me - yet. See, this is the problem: As we near the payment date, I get an email saying: ...and goes on telling me to fax/send them a W-9 form. So I fill out, sign, and send the W-9 form as they requested. Still not verified with the IRS because I am not on 'the IRS database'. I have never dealt with the IRS before (never sent a tax return, nothing), so I'm assuming that is the reason I'm not on 'the IRS database'. Is there a place to register for this IRS database? What can I do in order for my tax info to get verified? I'm turing to you guys because the YPN support people are not helping.
Yea , excatly , Do you have the SSN# card, Maybe you have your SSN# mixed up, cause like artic said , you get that when you are born.
I think you establish an entry in the IRS database once an employer sends in your first W-2 for a job you've done. I think your best option would be to contact the IRS and explain your situation. Solution is probably simple. http://www.irs.gov/contact/index.html
I've been dealing with same SHIT for days. I'm VERY upset. I've contacted YPN couple times, and my bank couple times! Excuse my language.
This is Not YPN's problem. If the IRS says invalid, They CANNOT send you a check! In the choice of upseting you, or the IRS, guess who will win! Your problem is with the IRS, call your regonal office (most likely a local office if you live in any kind of city) and find out what the problem is. I will bet you have your SSN wrong.
That must be why because this would be my FIRST paycheck (job) over $600. I will contact the IRS...it's too bad I will have to sit here and work this out while other are recieving their check starting tomorrow (25th)! sundaybrew - I know what a SSN card is.
It's great that you cam make money online at your age. I'm quite envious. When I was 18, there was no World Wide Web. I had to sell shoes and sort mail for beer money. Let us know how it goes with the IRS folks.
Called IRS but the customer rep. didn't help at much if at all. She said I should call Social Security (SS) and make sure my info. are correct. That's when I remembered that I no longer live at the address that's with SS. So i'm thinking i'll just go back to my YPN account and use my old address and have them mail the check to my current address...all seems fine...but no, something has to go wrong...you can update the tax info. online only 2 times. Dammit!...now I have to go to their office and change the address (can't be done online unless you get SS benefits)...Could that be it?...we'll find out. Hope the rest of you enjoy your checks
The US doesn't do this and they never have. In order for a person to have an SSN assigned the Parent (Baby) has to apply for it. Trust me I know, I have 4 children.
no siteowner, i dont think SS and your address have anything to do with eachother. Yahoo contacted the IRS to make sure your full name and SS number matched up and to verify if you are subject to back withholding. Somewhere along those lines, your SS number didnt match up with your personal info. I had the same problem, a misspelling of my name in YPN made me wait an extra month to get paid. jmo of course
But why would they do that when I didn't check the optional "I am exempt from backup withholding" checkbox?
I got my SS number in California when I was 16 (1960). I HAD TO APPLY for it, at a local SS office. Has this changed? It wouldn't surprise me, as the government takes over more and more of our lives. Next, they will be withholding anticipated future taxes! My take on taxes - http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/economics/income-tax-inflation.htm
the government already does that dude... if they took too much you get some back, if they didnt take enough, you gotta pay some more.
Update: Good new! I just got an email from someone that actually looked into my case. Here's an excerpt: I'm used to abbreviating so I used MPLS for Minneapolis. So it should be smooth sailing from here. I feel better now.
