Nice info guys and gals... Is LinkedIn similar to Yahoo in the sense that they ban you for "spam-like" answers?
Buy some commercial time during some major sporting events, such as the super bowl or world series. To make things easier on you, hire an advertising firm to handle the casting of the crew and hiring the actual production firm. Besides the super bowl and world series, consider running some commercials on your local TV channels. Sometimes the TV station even has a crew that will go on location, film the commercial, edit it and then broadcast it for you. If you do not live in a very big city, contact the tv stations in the largest market nearest your home. Even then, I would suggest some of the large markets, such as new york, LA, Houston, Dallas,,,,,. If you can wait a week or two, a full page ad in the new york times or a news paper in the 5 largest US markets will bring you lots of traffic. A full page ad in Time or Newsweek magazine will probably give you a large return.
Do you have any experience with these methods? This is obviously for the big players with the big bankroll...I know the superbowl/world series ad would cost millions...But what would you think the price would be in an average magazine?
Contact the local college and high schools - some of them have a journalism class and publish their own newspapers. You never know, they might be looking for people to interview for an article. Sometimes local TV stations like to interview local business people. They will use the interviews as filler material. Contact the local chamber of commerce and ask about sponsoring local events. Walk around a local fair and out out business cards. Visit trade shows and hand out business cards. I posted that stuff about the super bowl and world series to get the ball rolling. Sometimes you have to think outside the box. Chances are nobody here on DP can afford millions of dollars for a few seconds of commercial time. There are real world markets that people can tap into. Personally, I use youtube to help drive trageted traffic to my site. Over the past 2 years I have posted over 320 videos. At one time, youtube sent my site as much traffic as Yahoo.
I'll second that. Set up a google adwords account, pay your money and get instant traffic. A word of warning, you can blow a LOT of money so be very careful do your research properly.
social bookmarking is a best way to get more traffics. try to generate more and more backlinks for your sites.

my trick is to market it through social media sites and now with the twitter craze...its great, also exchanging links with similiar niche web masters and if your a blogger do a guest blog post on some popular blog with a link back to yours....orrr, write a few articles on your specific niche topic and post them on popular free submission article sites like ezinearticles.com with a link back to your own site.
I say submitting your pages to social networking is the fastest method to get instant traffic. You should focus upon providing quality contents.
