I am Working online for a long time now. But I am still not able to figure out how websites generate there revenue. I am talking about small websites with limited visitors daily I know about google adsense. 1 more thing How many visitors a website require on daily basis to generate $400-$500 a months Thanks in advance for your help.
The other ways to make money from a site: a) Donations - but you'd better have really good content to make this work. b) Memberships - ditto. c) Selling things. Either virtual goods like e-books, or physical goods (either your own or as a dropshipper)
Develop great content and then you can make that easily. All the ways mentioned are great options, but you can also look at other ad networks depending on your niche. Other networks may pay more than Google. Also you can do direct ad sales which definitely makes you more money as you do not need to share any of the profit. The first step however is to have good content and then either work on getting more visitors if you plan on going with ads or maybe a membership site, donations, or affiliate commissions.
Its depend on what kind of ads you using. If the ads is CPM and it count impression which the rate is varied according to traffic origin.
the answer is - they mostly aren't generating revenue - hop over to the adsense forum - look at how many people there are making less than $100 a month (e.g http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1357411 ) then hop over to the affiliates forum - same thing
Still missing big picture. I mean where should I focus? On adsense on contents on visitors or on what?
On adsense on contents on visitors or on what? It's not really an "or." Concentrate on providing compelling content, which provides a reason for visitors to come to and return to your site, and you'll suddenly find your adsense will be looking much more healthy.
