    G'day every one in Dp,

Just wondering does it allowed to sell a Twitter account with a huge number of followers? I have a strong doubt about it but recently i found at BST forum that someone had successfully sold a facebook account with xxxx+ friends. Can any one please confirm me about it?

    Thanks in advance

Its not your account to sell. That twitter account belongs to the owner of twitter. You own nothing at twitter, you do not own anything on that site or server.

Because you do not own the account, you can not sell something you do not own. That would be like taking a car you borrowed and selling it.

It's in the terms; these people might just be doing it on the hush. Most major companies will shut you down sharpish if they think you're making money out of "their" account.

Account sales are not allowed at DigitalPoint - regardless of the Twitter TOS.
If you see a sale please use the report button to notify the mods.

Indeed. You'd still be better off trying to sell on some other forum than here.

People were selling accounts that required a degree of verification and so people who weren't eligible were getting them that way. There was an element of identity theft and breaking the TOS of the other site.

After untold complaints of scamming, theft, fraud etc for which we were being asked to act as judge and jury it was felt that the most responsible solution was to not allow account sales.

Now, I'm sure some accounts can be sold by the sites that issue them but we're not about to go scanning the TOS of all of them, and keeping up to date with changes to the TOS. It's far more practical to make a blanket ban.

As for digitalpoint accounts, they should not be sold - however it would be naive to believe it doesn't happen. An account with 5000 posts and 100 iTraders is very valuable - a dishonest person can create havoc if they buy an account like that. It's why we have the phishing issues etc - people want to control the accounts and then either use them or sell them.

Twitter prohibits any of their accounts to be sold. People do it all the time though and it's very hard to get caught. I don't advise selling your Twitter account or ever buying one.
