Will the US legalize Marijuana?

I've seen a lot in the newspaper lately about the legalization of marijuana.

Do you think or believe that the United States will actually legalize weed?

I have smoked it personally from 18-34. I live in Oregon and have a card.

I believe it has saved my life during some really hard times I have gone through.

I do not believe that people should drive while on it. I do not believe that kids should smoke it.

I say let the government regulate it and tax it. Put the money into this country's education systems.

By the way the United States does already has a tax stamp for marijuana, but will not sell any of the stamps to the public (why the hell, not?).

I think it will eventually happen, but not for at least another ten years.

There's a lot of support for it right now, but I don't think there is enough to get any federal action. Individual states might though.

I honestly see Canada doing it long before the US does.

It's sad that we have a ban on it, in my opinion, because a lot of people need it (and not just to get high).

I think it's entirely possible but it's going to be a while before they do that.

That is an extremly loaded question. I do know that in Canada growing hemp (I believe that is the male plant) is really given the farming economy a boost. As for America yes I think they will eventually have to, because they will need something to tax once the tobacco smokers can't afford to buy a pack.

Hemp are variations of Cannabis strains cultivated for industrial (non-drug) use. These include male and female plants.

Industrial hemp has many uses, including paper, textiles, biodegradable plastics, construction, health food, and fuel, but it will not get you high.

Weed that gets you high, also can be used in industry, as well as as for medication.

They'll legalize it eventually. It would help if we didn't have a worthless bureaucratic two party system with both sides having long since given up using any critical thinking, since pandering to the lowest common denominator is so much more effective at getting votes.
