    I have been having big trouble submitting an xml site map that google likes, all seem to come back with errors. Which are the best sites that generte quality xml sitemaps for free?

    If you have a wordpress blog website, use the plugins, I use the Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress, look like it's been working for me, I checked it with google webmaster tools

    Although I found xml-sitemaps.com the best one, it creates sitemap containing 500 urls for free. If you want more, you will have to pay.

    If you are using a content management system, you should use a sitemap that integrates with the CMS. That way the script can rebuild the sitemap when you add new content.

    So my question is, is your site a static html site or is it a database driven content management system? If you are using a CMS, what is it?

    no doubt xml-sitemaps.com is one of the best website to generate xml sitemap but it gives upto 500 pages sitemap. If your website have more than 500 pages then it is useless and you have to do it manually or you have to take help from www.sitemapbuilder.net .................it may help you. Try it.........

    i used "Sitemap Generator" program and i pleasure it.

    it generate mobile, video, rss, sitemap, urllist, robot.txt etc

    If it is simple page with few links just type xml document and place it in root of your page:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
    <url>
    <loc>http://yourpage.com/page1.html/</loc>
    <lastmod>2009-05-27</lastmod>
    <changefreq>monthly</changefreq>
    <priority>1.0</priority>
    </url>
    <url>
    <loc>http://yourpage.com/page2.html/</loc>
    <lastmod>2009-05-27</lastmod>
    <changefreq>monthly</changefreq>
    <priority>1.0</priority>
    </url>
    and so on just change the name of "your page" to your page and save it as xml file.
    go to google webmaster tool add sitemap and done.

    I would suggest phpSitemapNG, it is a free server side application which you can setup in the cron to generate a new sitemap every day.
