Yes, the best way is SEO, SEO On Page and SEO Off Page. If you have good content but not supported by SEO you will not get traffic too. Read http://slayo.com/category/adsense-seo maybe the posts will increase your knowledge about internet marketing.

It's kind of sad when a new poster asks for help, yet bullshit advice like this gets thrown at him.

Hey bro. Donlt feel bad we were all there once before when we needed to get some help or answers about sommething. In order to get more traffic you really need to get search engine rankings.

First you. You need to do some keyword research on your industry and then build backlinks by using some of the below methods:

    Directory submissions
    Article marketing
    Blog posting and commenting
    Link exchanges

    This should get you started

The guy from the Garden State is giving you some pretty solid advice here.

I'd also suggest that you build some link wheels.

Yup, try those noobie methods. Once you find out that they do not work, save your money for advertising. You do not need a lot. ... Maybe, a couple of hundred bucks.

Once you have the money, then ask for advice on how to advertise.

Oh, and by the way, whenever you have someone talking about seo, organic traffic being so great, ask them to show you where they are listed.

If they aren't even listed to be seen, then how in the hell do they know?!

How do you say "dumbasses" in your language? :)

    Good luck with it, dear.

If you have the money to spend, PPC is the way to go. If not, try the usual linkbuilding methods such as social bookmarking, article submission, forum posting, etc.

Getting good traffic as long as you focus on the right keywords.

That's why it is important to do a proper keyword research before you start a web project and optimize the website content & use those keywords as your anchor text from other sites that are related to your niche.

We all learn from experience - as long as you make sure you watch out what you do, and then monitor how it affects traffic to your site, you would learn in good time. The whole industry is looking at ways to increase traffic - however don't restrict yourself to act on thoughts impressed upon by those who have tasted success by their methods. What works for one, may not work for other - this is a dynamic field with a lot of effort that needs to be devoted (and a lot of praying for Google and other search engines to recognize your efforts)

My 2c - develop site with good content, visit other sites that rank better than you and look at how you can raise the standard of your site (content, layout, style) and stay in the race, don't quit just when you might start getting the results of all your hard work.

    Cheers
    G

If you want "good" traffic, you should optimize your site your site for the search engines, use targeted keywords on your site, and get some targeted advertising.

The groups of people that you want to visit your site, "why" would they want to visit your site? What is it about your site that anyone would want to visit? Is there quality information there, is the information easy to find, is the site layed out in a fluid way to its easy to navigate?

After all of that, "who" is your targeted audience of people and where are they at? Lets compare that to fishing. Lets say you want to go fishing, are you going to go fishing on a road? No, because fish do not live on a road. What about a desert? Will you catch any fish in the sand? What about fishing in a tree. Will you catch any fish in the limbs of a tree? No, you are going to catch fish in the water. People are the same way. You need to go fishing for visitors where the people are at.

Is your targeted audience hanging out in directories, probably not. Is your targeted audience at social bookmarking sites, probably not. Figure out "who" your audience is and "where" they are at on the internet. And the rest is fishing. Use the right bait to get people to bite and visit your site.
