Should I tell google?

If I am working on different adsense strategies and some of those stratgies may or may not come close to violating the google terms and conditions should I send google an email showing them my site and asking if everything is ok? Or should I just leave it and hope for the best?

I don't intend on doing anything too bad just blending ads and making them look really good but all this talk about getting banned has got me thinking that I should be extra careful in case I too get banned.

So what do you guys think? Has anyone ever contacted google to ask if your site is not violating the T & C?

I'd say contact them first since losing your adsense account is one of the worst things that can happen to you as a webmaster. You can also tell us in this thread how you intend blending the ads and we can tell you if it's allowed or not.

I you have any doubt about violating Google TOS, I would suggest you to ask them first if everything is all right.
Once you're banned, it's to late.
Many people had contacted them to ask if their pages wasn't violating TOS, and most of the time it was a good idea, even if Google answers were not always very clear, it seems they appreciate any effort for complying.

I've never heard of anyone who's gotten banned because they asked Google if their site complied with TOS. If you ask them nicely they'll return your email and, if there're any TOS issues, will let you know what to change.

Haha well, think about things this way:
If you did do something wrong, and you get caught - is it better to have asked for permission or to have done it anyways, taking the risk?

Glad to see you're complying :)

Good advice of course, it is better to check first, but as a point of interest does anyone actually get banned for these kind of misleading blending / pictures too close and without a border type of violations?

I don't recall ever reading an 'I've been banned' thread for these reasons, but only for click-fraud etc

I've designed some stupidly blended sites and queried Google on these, to which they reply "your site complies with our TOS", occassionally even making suggestions.

Ask everytime you try something new and you'll get a feel for just how far you can go or not.

Yes, definately ask them. There is nothing to lose here if you ask them. If they dont respond and then they ban you, you can email them saying you did ask politely and got no response.

If they do ban you, then go to your account and there is a link to request to be unbanned as long as you become compliant now with their TOS.

What exactly was it you were thinking of doing that may violate their TOS?

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by emailing them. You're taking a risk if you don't email them.
