Hello all. I just have a quick question in regards to my Adsense account. I am still a very new developer and I am constantly learning new things on how to improve my skills and make better websites. I have had my account for about 3 months, and have yet to make any significant profit. What I have managed to do is have an account full of Channels and Ads that I no longer use. It would be great if I could start all over. Do you know how I can do that? Can I somehow reset my account? Furthermore, if resetting an account is not possible, can I simply close my account and open a new one? Also, my brother (who lives in the same house as me and is also a webmaster) is thinking of applying for an Adsense account. We use different computers, however, we utilize the same internet connection. Could this pose a risk to both our accounts? Should we contact Adsense in advance? If so, how do we do that? Any help in regards to these issues would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!
Thanks for your reply kelvin. I did try to contact Adsense through on their "Predict significant change in your account" forms, however, that was about 2 weeks ago and I have yet to receive any kind of a reply. Any ideas? Maybe a better way to contact them?
I would really appreciate any sort of advice on this one fellow DPers. It doesn't have to be a complete answer. Thanks
You can't reset your adsense account to make it start from zero again. Just continue using that account with new channel. Those ads that you have created before will become inactive if you do not use them. As for your brother, I would advise him to use computer using other internet connection, and his mailing address should be different from yours. Google can detect if you have used the same address and would possibly suspect that you are trying to apply for a second account.
Using two accounts from a shared internet connection is not a problem. Back in the days when my brother created his account, I already had one. And we were living at the same place, sharing internet, just as you do. There's never been a problem with that, cause we didn't do anything illegal. I'm sure about that, cause I'll give you another example - in my office, we have a static real IP for the whole office intranet - we all use the same internet connection. I work with my account very often from the office, and some other colleagues do, but this doesn't(and shouldn't) bother G, cause we don't break any rules. Another possible situation is that you share the same IP with a lot of people in your ISP's network... About the email - when you try to register a second account with the same email they'll tell you this mail has already been used - so no, it's not a problem either
you may ask them to close your account, and signup from another Address, but resetting an account is not possible, BTW why do you want to reset it, did you clicked your own ads
Just delete all your channels and use the "hide" feature on the ads that you created. Feels like starting over again.
