That’s impossible because my wife controls every single penny that goes into our account. She knows how much I have on my paypal account, my adsense earnings, she just knows everything. You guys don’t know how much I must fight just to get a new PC “it’s not fairâ€.
Or get a new wife. Or no wife. Those stories sound like prison to me. If ever I get near such a situation I'll make sure that 1. there's more than enough money and 2. I get to spend as much as I want of my own damn money without needing to report to the other half.
haha, this one is a little unfair... you should have freedom to spend the money you make but most spouses would at least expect their other half to discuss large purchases with them... part of marriage i guess. i'm sure you wouldn't want you wife (if you do get married ) to discuss with you before she goes ahead and buy a car?
If it's her money, she can buy it without consulting me. If it's my money then yeah, would be nice if she asked. I'm not a fan of conventional thinking so I will make it very clear before we get married how I think about such situations. But I guess it comes down to having enough money so it's not an issue.
if we're talking about big purchases, then we're talking real big money... both my wife and me earn decent amounts... and for us, it's actually more comfortable knowing that your spouse will discuss matters with you before spending big...
Of course I agree that as a matter of courtesy, out of respect and because it's nice to talk about buying interesting stuff you still discuss it, but all I'm saying is that it should not be a requirement per se. This isn't the first thread here that illustrates a member got in a tight situation because of spending money on something they really wanted. Often they narrowly escaped a big fight or something similar. That just feels wrong to me. I should not fear getting bollocked for spending my own money without prior consent.
I'd hate it if I needed an "Approval" from my wife to buy things I need/want. We are both smart enough to know what is required and what is not. A laptop or most computer equipment is not a house or a new car that you have to discuss, or approval for. I'm not sure starting this thread was a very "smart" move regardless of your wife knowing about this forum. I would buy $1,000,000 worth of stuff without consulting before ever insulting her in public.
I have just one question for the guys who let their wives control all the money and need "approval" to buy something: WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR BALLS?
This is so true on every level. But now I have flipped the tables and I'm home while she is breaking her back..Isn't married life super!!
Yet I've never even been married, and it looks like I know more about wives than most married men do!!!! Yo, guys, got a question about your wife?? Ask da wacko. He'll know da answer!!
I've been sky diving, did several bungee jumps, some rock climbing, took a race car driving course, went cliff diving off an 80 foot waterfall and have over 1,000 paragliding flights including several hairy crashes. I've had more balls than you can shake a stick at but my they now are the property of my wife.
is this one if this super-solid 4000$ industry laptops where can throw bricks on it and nothing happens, or just a normal consumer laptop? in last case i wouldt recommend sand+sun+saltwater to a notebook. and how can you you read something on a notebook display in sunlight?!
I pondered that but our beaches have nice grassy areas with tables so no worries about the sand. Being in Canada, when i face the ocean the sun is in front of me, thus no glare. I did leave out one aspect of my deal with my wife; if I agreed to buy a laptop and spend more time with the family I get more sex. I made out like a bandit
So now you have to make sacrifices for sex as well? What a life... That 'Canada & Sun' comment doesn't make a whole lot of sense btw. Remember that Canada has two 'sides' and is next to two oceans and the sun tends to move around during the day
