Let me know if you think this is a good idea. This is what I am going to do: Anyone who subscribes to my site with their email address will have a chance to win a 50% share of all revenue earned on the site from today until there are 1 Million RSS subscribers. Once the Million mark is met I will hold a draw and one lucky winner will receive 50% of all revenue earned on the site.
Why would you give away 50% of your ad revenue just to an rss subscriber? Seems way too generous to me and even a bit silly! Also a 1 in 1 million chance is not very high chance of winning LOL. I think people would be better off with a lottery ticket - at least they will get the truck load of cash straight away instead of 0.05c a day from 50% of your site adsense.
How are you verifying subscriptions? I don't think it is an entirely bad idea. Communities are now starting to give back to users who submit content. Why not do the same for people who read it? While I do think this is a sporting idea I don't see it being as efficient as some other methods. I think a more efficient method would be to share profit with websites that link to you.
One chance out of one million, with a feed for which I don't care coming every week. Maybe 5 years (or never) before you got one million suscribers. I'd rather buy a lottery ticket.
Yes I agree. In fact I am sorry to say but the more I think about this less I like it. Maybe you should think about some other subscription idea, I see your url and know that you need to have a subscription thing. What about if everyone that subscribes up to the 1 millionth person all get revenue share? that would be better but as it is I don't like it sorry just being honest.
