It is very possible. I tested my luck on some unpopular keywords on digg. My website appears on top 3 after only one hour. Of course, it's only true with unpopular keywords. For example: try this "insane, sick twisted movies"

Surely it will depend on the competitiveness of the keyword(s) you choose, and a big factor will be the strength and trust of your domain. Ranking quickly in a weak field where there is no traffic surely can't be more beneficial than putting in the time to rank well in a field where there is search traffic and the possibility of conversions
Ya I think it is possible, But If the site is on 2nd or 3 rd page, that would be easy to bring up within 24 hrs, however, If it is not on 3rd page or 2nd page, I don't think it is possible, there is a blacklist risk or google ban may be there....
You probably could get into Google top 10 in 24 hours and I can give you an exact checklist of how to do it: 1. Hack Google 2. Change your PR to 10 3. Spam millions of sites with your backlink 4. Stop the spider bot indexing every other site except yours 5. Have a good nights rest 6. Be in court next morning 7. You should be in prison in time for dinner
I'm talking about brand new domains, of course you can do it with a powerful blog, in minutes not hours. it can also be done with new domains on easy ish kws if you do it right.
Yes, Google top ten listing are possible in less than 48 hours. The way they do this is by carefully selecting the keywords you're trying to optimize for and finding something with very little competition. This is usually a 3 or 4 term keyword (long tail). Then the put a link to your site from one of their established pages with a high Google PR with the long tail keyword as anchor text... usually that's all it takes if the keyword has little or no competition. The downside is that the ranking is usually short lived. Remember, you get what you pay for.
