Google's Page Rank Discussion Thread

I have tested many websites in the past few days, Google's Page Rank is not based on nummber of backlinks to the sites.
I oftne see many SEO Experts say that Good PR can be obtained basis on backinks, i ask them HOW?

1)
I tested a website which is 7 years old and the site does not contain any meta tags, any content on the webpage (found only images without any ALT tags), number of backlinks are 10. But the site still holds Page Rank 3. Can a genuine SEO Expert answer this to me?

2)
I tested one more webiste, which is 1.3 years old and the site contains above average meta tags, but the number of backlinks to the site are 9 crores and 72 laccs types but the site still holds Page Rank 4. How is this possible? As per many articles written by various experts, if you hold above 1 crore backlinks to your site, then the PR would be above PR9 types.

Please I request only genuine SEO Experts answers this and rest excuse...

 

My PR2 site goes down to PR1.. maybe because of losing large % of traffic twice that happened on my site during April and May..

 

Why so early this time?
Is it a really updating or is it going to have another update in June?

 

Yes it got updated..my PR0 site went up to PR1....

Hello Guys !!!

Google has updated PR for some websites today at around 2.30 AM. I was surfing internet. When I refreshed the home page of my blog http://www.tricksdaddy.com Google toolbar started showing PR 3. Firstly I didn't beleive it, then I immediately checked it with some page rank tools.

My blog's PR goes up to PR 3 from PR 0

How many of you notice increase in your PR.. Do share it here

 

May be the previous site be having quality one way back links with high PR....Google prefers one way back links from high PR site rather than reciprocal link...

 

Ouch.. One of my website's PR decreased to 0.. it was 2 couple of months back.. Last month it was decreased to 1 and today back to 0...

 

nothings happend to my site

 

Certainly also base the quality of the backlinks

 

Most of mine went up! (The rest stayed the same)

 

I can see change on my websites too...

 

Most of my website PR's went up.... the rest stayed the right where they were.

At least I didn't lose anything...

 

I think it will update next month.

 

Sammrat... you don't even know that meta tags make no difference to PR. Maybe you need to read a book on the topic

 

Definitely it is a PR update. Some of my sites went down, and some unexpectedly went up. A blog of mine which I haven't updated for a year went up to PR3 Most remained the same.

I am not disappointed with the update at all even though some blogs went down in PR. There were no penalisations.

 

My PR went down during this update.

 

Today i have seen some updation on G Pr.
This was unscheduled Pr updation . According to me Pr update is expected On July 1st Week.
Can we see some updation again in july.

This time Pr updation is better then last one.
