Hostgator affiliate comissions

Anyone use hostgator banners and are they worth it? Im considering their banner on the framed page of a proxy because adsense only allows ads on the front page but not on a framed page with random offensive stuff.

So far I see 17 "raw clicks" but $0 in earnings. I signed up in a hurry just copying someone else who had the hosgator banner so I didn't do much research at all. Is anyone putting their banner up and is it a good yield or should I junk it and look for alternatives already?

I've tried them before but with no luck. I guess I didn't really put in effort into this selling OR I dont have a site that related to webhosting, so well, trying to sell a hosting is a tough choice.

You have to put effort into it. Hostgator, Globat and all others are worth it if you work it. I use them on my web design site. Rather than be a host and have to deal with the headaches, I have my web design clients use Hostgator or Globat.

You know how it goes they sign up through me. Globat is good too, they give $65.00 a sign up. Heck with Globat if you sell enough you can get $200 commisions. Takes work though.

So how many clicks before a sale? I am thinking of dumping the hostgator banner on my framed proxy pages so I need a timeline as to how many clicks should I wait before I dump them and move on? 100 clicks with no sale? 1000 clicks with no sale?

See adsense pays me around 12 cents a click. So at this rate for a $50 sale hostgator would probably suck up 400 or so clicks before a sale am I right? Thats *if* hostgator pays at the same rate. But how have people's experience been? What is your approximate yield per click and yield per unique with hostgator?

FIVE539 and Tony how hard did you try with Gator and did you just passively put the banner up? It seems pannick sort of cheated in a way since he steered his customers to the sale but I do not run a web hosting business so I just have to rely on banners.

Speaking of banners that can go in "seedy" places like proxied pages, what besides Hosgator and Globat can a person put? I was thinking adult dating sites w/o nudity in the banners maybe.

Hosts affiliate programs are great... I am making sales almost everyday... but you should know where to place their banners, and it should be in related sites where visitors are interested in hosts
