Well done to Barcelona they completely dominated the midfield. The way to pass the football is beautiful to watch.

Easy scenario, well known in advance.
By watching these 2 teams in their respective championship, you could easily see that Barca, with a better structural play and good players who do not need support, will win.
Ferguson reprimanded the MU players at half time for sure. We have even seen Ronaldo working! But of course, he didn't do well as usual. He just can play without ball ( 4 faults and 1 bad pass ). Playing with no ball to destabilize a move is really for very good player. That's why he made the fault each time.
    Well, no surprise here...

Well done Barcelona...3 on 3: Liga, copa del rey and CL now...

Man of the match IMO: Inesta.

Fantastic performance from Barcelona. Their midfield trio of Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi won it for them.

United weren't that bad, but I thought the timing of the first goal affected their game quite a bit. It was Barca's first major foray forward, and they scored. It just did not happen for them in midfield today, and the strikers didn't get too many chances upfront.

A treble for Pep in his first year in management.

The bookmakers didn't think so there was no favorite for the match.

Agree 100%, cracking performance from Iniesta.

Thought United were poor in the first half other than n the first ten minutes when they had most of the possesion. Second half they played better but never looked like scoring.

Park did well, and ran his socks off, Carrick was average as was Anderson and although classed as the best footballer in the world Ronaldo was crap.

British or not, there was no huge favorite for the game. The two best teams in the world were playing each other.

True they have great attacking football and they don't rely on any one player a great deal unlike Man U which relies so much on Ronaldo to score goals.

Silly. Bookmakers/sportsbooks go off current markets, history, team fitness etc.

Man Utd were the current European and World Champions and Barca had several players missing and several players (i.e Henry) who hadn't played for a month.

Of course, Man Utd were the genuine favourites.

Not so silly. Bookmakers things were born in England and have to make money, knowing that most of England will go with MU.

Someone who knows football deeply knew this MU had no chances against this Barcelona.
I'm an Anderlecht fan, so I'm neutral here. But I know, year for year, which team play really well or not...

MU was the favorite only because it's more known around the globe than Barcelona, nothing else...

I supported Barca tonight and did feel that they would have the edge. Before today though Man Utd did look pretty darn good, crushing Arsenal in the semi final. They have took the Premier League by storm this year and as noted, were the European and World Champions.

I lost some money on this game as I had over 2.5 gls on, but was quite happy to see Barca lift the trophy anyway; I just can't stand the smug armchair Reds that only sing when their winning.

The game was a shock though, that's the first time Man Utd have lost in a European Cup Final, as you may remember, they were losing to Bayern Munich in the 89th minute and came back with two goals to win it. When there was no fight back tonight it felt kinda refreshing, despite losing my cash, lol.:)

Sorry to read you lose some cash.

Actually, I think that Liverpool, Chelsea or Inter Milan would have put much more difficulties to Barca than MU, because they use a style that can make Barca midfielder turning around with no productivity.

Same thing happened to Belgian team in world cup 1982 facing world champ Argentina, way superior.
The Belgian coach couldn't find a technique to stop Maradona. He decided to put nobody for him. Maradona who always played with at least 3 men on his shoulder was completely lost and seems not knowing what to do.
The technical aspect of that team make Argentina in a difficult position and they lost.

Maradona is the best football player of all time, able to win a game alone, like Argentina-Belgium in 1986. There is nobody better at this time yet and he's way superior to Pele who was great in his time but would be average if playing in the 80's, 90's or 2000's...

Agree on Maradona, I think today the best player would have to be Kaka or Messi. Can't make my mind up on Ronaldo.

Chelsea and Liverpool need to invest in the summer, if they do, they could probably match Man Utd.:)

Didn't expect Man U to play so weak, without power. Overall, Barca deserves to win the champions league this year. I think they have the best team.

Well it was poor game from Manchester United and I don't know why Alex comes with this team despite of having two strikers. Ryan Giggs and Anderson just pass their time and we hardly see balls on them. It was poor performance from united and Barcelona showed the class without key defenders.
