The argument is about IE8 being more 'powerful' than Firefox. IE8 is a pitiful browser, technically incompetent at best, difficult to make work for web developers, the most insecure, and 11 years behind every other browser. It's the worst browser on the planet and no one should use it for anything ever!

Personal preference has no play with this dog but if you think IE is better (you will never find any professional coder or article that will agree with you) then please list your reasons.

I didn't say IE8 is better but it's annoying when you (i don't mean you personally) try to convience someone to use FF but don't give any arguments and make other browser users idiots.

You said it's about personal preference, which is correct except in the case of IE.
Over the year or more I've been here, I've given hundreds of links plus information, including the three links in my sig. IE is a dog. Widely known, provable and verifiable.

Hey what I opserved lately was pages dont crash in ie8. I mean incase if they crash or something the page automatically get recovered to the previous page you browsed in that window. Something like the page does not crash up and close but is recovered.

    Feran,
Tell him about Microsoft's blacklist and how using the compatibility mode might cause that web site to forever be kicked onto that list and never get off.

based on IE history - it may be better to wait for a few releases to give them time to fix security bugs

Are you sure? In FF3 the windows get closed after a crash and you need to relaunch firefox.

Man i agree with you, being a web designer i had pain, real pain, spending hours fixing bugs that showed up only on IE, the company even had to make strategies to change the way windows behaved so netscape couldn't work properly with it and i think the browser only exists because its incorporated and developed by the same company that created the most widely used OS.

But that doesn't make me like it one bit.

I'm testing chrome and the whole V8 concept is just awesome, every tab runs smoothly regardless of what the others are doing, it's very clean and it shows great promise, just waiting it comes out of beta and people start developing plugins for it.

Everyone SHOULD upgrade to IE8 for a couple of reasons. Some components of IE8 are also part of Windows and need to be updated anyway.

I still find firefox to be the more stable, secure and faster browser which
for a normal internet user is most important.

But most importantlly as a website developer i find that firefox tackles any version of IE, and throws it in the trash bin.
Every time i develop a high end website, i keep having to modify the code just so it will work in IE, i don't see the sence in this.

Making a website that will work in All browsers except IE...

While i'm not against Microsoft in general, i do not support their browser at all.

Everyone says, firefox, then IE, then firefox, then IE.

Firefox maybe can be a little better than IE, if that's what you want to know.

    But...
Where the hell is google chrome guys? I use it 24/7. Works perfect, no crash, etc.

While definatlly not a bad browser, Chrome isn't a browser the average Joe or Jane using the internet in the library has heard of, i think in order to make it a standard browser that people will use they have to beef up their marketing effort quite a bit.
