Never really bothered to check how my sites score in microsoft's live.com Are there any substanial differences in optimizing for this search engine? Is it really wort to pay attention?
i would like to know this as well... it seems everyone only cares about google and not much talk about live or yahoo
Windows live search market share in a certain proportion, so if you are a professional seo optimization, besides google, Windows live is also a focus. Of course, can not forget yahoo.
MS is a distant 3rd in the search engine market with under 5% so its up to you. But you should prioritise Google then Yahoo then MS.
I mainly just focus on Google and Yahoo. I don't know anyone that uses anything outside those search engines.
Yes, as far as I know, most of the European guys are with MSN rather than other search engines, I am sure, yahoo and google are better than this. I always use google.
Not true at all. You may have heard that most Europeans do not use Internet Explorer and use some other browser but most people, everywhere, use Google. Despite all the marketing hype, one must think about the fact that Google's main function is search and they've been doing it for 10 years or so. Search for Microsoft is a side business. What makes anyone think that, all of a sudden, they've discovered a better methodology than Google who meticulously studies this for all the past decade?
I gott just 1-2 users from MSN from the last 3 years however, I get 2000+ Unique from Google & 5-10 from users from Yahoo daily. I only concentrate on Google to get more traffic. Regards
I definitely think MSN is worth optimizing for. We get a considerable amount of conversions as a result of MSN searches.
A new search engine, a little bit different from others .. go in here for more infos http://www.decisionengine.com/Default.html Google is the king, so I'm seing that new search engine are trying to find something original and new (like http://www.wolframalpha.com did) , and avoid competition with google. Concerning the topic about msn .. If you rank well in google (and that must be your only objective) then you will rank well in Yahoo and MSN. Toon.
Yeap we need to give attention to other search engines but if implemented or spread the word it won't work, Because the population of Google search users is more than webmasters, so its bit difficult.
