Google is best as a search engine and advertising because it focuses on both those things however yahoo focuses on many things thus seems as it doesn't focus at all. also the search algorithm performed by Google is better and leads to more relevant search results thus good to search when you want something specific but is unpopular however yahoo uses a page ranking system mainly in its search results and also they don't index your website fast because they have paid indexing
